Greetings and salutations in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our soon coming King! It is with great joy knowing we are part of the beloved through His shed blood on the cross. We are experiencing trying times and of a fact worst days are ahead because we were promised in the scripture, “that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred” (2 Timothy 3: 1-2 NLT). Although scriptures must be fulfilled before the coming of the Lord, but we recognise as children of God that these things must never be mentioned among us as so charged by Paul in Ephesians 5:3, “but fornication, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints”. Many things are around to entice or tempt you, but please do not fall for it. Be alert, vigilant and sensitive to the spirit of God that is able to lead you away from all temptations. You may ask, how is it possible not to sin when all others around are doing it. Or, you are the only one saved at home or in your work environment and the temptations are strong whether it be alcohol, cigarette smoking, worldly songs, swearing and cursing, ungodly conversations, partying etc. But see what the scripture reminds us. 1 Corinthians 10: 13, “there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”. God will always make a way for you to escape but you must be sensitive and obedient to His promptings. “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed”(James 1:13-14 KJV). Never turn a blind eye to the biddings of God because of the enticement of the flesh, but remember “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life”(Romans 6:23 KJV). Please fight for your soul through reading and applying the word of God, burn the flesh on the altar through daily consecration and prayer and fasting. Stay in fellowship with the saints of God that are staying at the foot of the cross. You may err or fall short of God’s glory but we have an advocate with the Father who will make intercessions on our behalf once we go to Him with a humble and repentant heart. Never abuse or misuse God’s grace and forgiveness or use it as a license to commit presumptuous sins. He is coming back for those whose spiritual garments are without spots and blemish; so, let us keep it clean.
